Blue Mountain Apartments is located around 10 km from the Reykjavik City Centre and the journey takes only 15 minutes by car or 35 minutes by public transport. The hotel is situated within 50 km of the Keflavik International Airport, less than an hour drive by car.
There is a variety of activities and services located within a short distance of Blue Mountain Apartments and it offers easy access to downtown Reykjavík.

LOCATION
Public Transport
The public transport system in Reykjavík is called Straeto. The closest bus stop nearby our hotel is called: Vatnsendahvarf / Ögurhvarf and bus number 2 stops here. Within this bus you can go to Reykjavik City Centre to bus stop calls Hlemmur. The journey takes about 35 minutes.
The price of a single fare is 490 kr the ticket is valid for 75 minutes (if you need to change the bus on your route, you can show the ticket to the bus driver when you enter the next bus).
Best way is to download the Strætó App and use that to pay for your bus. You can also buy a ticket on the bus, but you have to pay for it via cash because Citybus in the Capital area does not accept any cards. Moreover, bus drivers are unable to give change. Tickets can also be bought in Hamraborg, Kringlan shopping centre and Mjódd Bus Terminal.
We recommend the Strætó app, which is a smart way to use public transport within and outside the Reykjavík metropolitan area. You can pay fares, plan your trip, locate buses in real time and more.
Please note that the buses run on weekdays from 7:00 am to midnight, Saturdays from 8:00 am to midnight, and Sundays from 10:00 am to midnight.

We used these apartments as a base to visit Iceland. The apartment was really nice and clean and airy and bright. We had use of the gym below the building. Signage is not very clear at night if you arrive late. Close enough to Reykjavik by bus or car if you are hiring.
