I won’t repeat all the things that previous reviewers have mentioned but agree wholeheartedly that these apartments are really lovely; well appointed and clean. I hadn’t appreciated that there wasn’t anyone on an actual reception all the time but my call at 8am was answered by Johanna and she met me at the apartment where we she was so nice and gave us a very unexpected early entry – making sure that we had a nap after our flight from Alaska. She clearly goes the extra mile to help you out; that wouldn’t happen at alot of places. I also met Tania who was also so lovely and we had a great chat about the Icelandic language. What great representatives of their country. We used the gym next door (Reebok) and it was great – wanted to use it the next day too but on Saturdays it closes at 5pm and we had been out all day on the Golden Circle. We used the laundry which was excellent and helped keep my washing for back home down. The bakery next to Bonus has excellent products and it also had gluten free options for me – yipee. It also stocks some items such as milk, cheese, ham which is ideal as the supermarket doesn’t open until 10am. The bonus supermarket doesn’t have any ready meals though – we did get some stuff and made a seafood risotto which was very tasty. A very nice thing that Johanna does is make available things that others have left – though we couldn’t find any salt there was paprika, rice dishes, tissues, chargers. We left a few things so hopefully they will help someone else out when they get there. Only request would be to have a frying pan in the apartment (it has everything else you need but we wanted to make some pancakes). There is a hairdryer though. You definitely need a car where the apartment is situated as it’s not possible to walk anywhere – lots of busy roads around (though very good double glazing in situ).
